El estudio, publicado en IEEE <em>Transactions on Neural Systems and Rehabilitation Engineering,\u00a0<\/em>en colaboraci\u00f3n con el <a href=\"https:\/\/www.guttmann.com\/es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Instituto Guttmann<\/a>, demuestra que esta tecnolog\u00eda puede facilitar la detecci\u00f3n precoz de un trastorno frecuente pero infradiagnosticado, que afecta negativamente a la recuperaci\u00f3n y rehabilitaci\u00f3n despu\u00e9s del ictus.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La apnea del sue\u00f1o es un trastorno caracterizado por episodios repetidos de obstrucci\u00f3n o colapso de la v\u00eda a\u00e9rea superior durante el sue\u00f1o. Estas interrupciones respiratorias reducen el ox\u00edgeno disponible en sangre. Los pacientes que han sufrido un ictus constituyen una poblaci\u00f3n de alto riesgo, ya que presentan una menor calidad de sue\u00f1o y una prevalencia m\u00e1s elevada de trastornos del sue\u00f1o, como el insomnio y los trastornos respiratorios.<\/p>\n<div class=\"flex max-w-full flex-col grow\">\n<div class=\"min-h-8 text-message relative flex w-full flex-col items-end gap-2 text-start break-words whitespace-normal [.text-message+&amp;]:mt-1\" dir=\"auto\" data-message-author-role=\"assistant\" data-message-id=\"e030ac34-088f-45ac-bca2-f56824c7c3e5\" data-message-model-slug=\"gpt-5-2\">\n<div class=\"flex w-full flex-col gap-1 empty:hidden first:pt-[1px]\">\n<div class=\"markdown prose dark:prose-invert w-full break-words light markdown-new-styling\">\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"268\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">M\u00e1s del 50 % de las personas que han sufrido un ictus tienen apnea del sue\u00f1o, pero muchas no pueden acceder a estudios del sue\u00f1o porque presentan otras complicaciones de salud y porque las pruebas actuales, como la polisomnograf\u00eda, son inc\u00f3modas, complejas y costosas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"268\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">El trabajo, liderado por <strong>Raimon Jan\u00e9<\/strong>, profesor de la UPC, investigador principal del IBEC y del CIBER-BBN y l\u00edder del grupo de Procesamiento e interpretaci\u00f3n de se\u00f1ales biom\u00e9dicas (BIOSPIN) del IBEC se ha publicado en la revista IEEE <em>Transactions on Neural Systems and Rehabilitation Engineering<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"268\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">El nuevo sistema aprovecha los sensores integrados en los tel\u00e9fonos inteligentes y un pulsiox\u00edmetro inal\u00e1mbrico para registrar se\u00f1ales ac\u00fasticas, de movimiento y de oxigenaci\u00f3n durante la noche, permitiendo extraer biomarcadores digitales multimodales relacionados con la respiraci\u00f3n, la posici\u00f3n corporal y la saturaci\u00f3n de ox\u00edgeno.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"268\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Seg\u00fan <strong>Jan\u00e9<\/strong>, \u201cla integraci\u00f3n de biomarcadores digitales obtenidos con tel\u00e9fonos inteligentes puede mejorar la detecci\u00f3n, comprensi\u00f3n y el manejo de la apnea del sue\u00f1o tras un ictus, reduciendo su impacto cl\u00ednico y favoreciendo la recuperaci\u00f3n funcional\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"268\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">El estudio se realiz\u00f3 con 30 pacientes en fase subaguda de ictus y 30 personas que no hab\u00edan sufrido ictus (17 hombres y 13 mujeres), con edades comprendidas entre 33 y 63 a\u00f1os. Los resultados revelaron que el 67% de los pacientes de ictus sufr\u00edan apnea del sue\u00f1o de moderada a grave frente a un 40% en el grupo control, mientras que la apnea grave se encontr\u00f3 en el 40% de los pacientes con ictus y el 7% de los controles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"268\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">De acuerdo con <strong>Yolanda Castillo<\/strong>, investigadora del IBEC y del CIBER-BBN, y primera autora, \u00abel estudio permiti\u00f3 una descripci\u00f3n detallada de la apnea del sue\u00f1o y de los patrones de posici\u00f3n tras un ictus, as\u00ed como una comparaci\u00f3n con un grupo control sin discapacidad.
