La creaci\u00f3n de esta filial, ubicada en el Parque Cient\u00edfico de Barcelona (PCB) de la Universidad de Barcelona (UB) y que cuenta con la colaboraci\u00f3n del Instituto de Bioingenier\u00eda de Catalu\u00f1a (IBEC), reafirma el compromiso institucional y gubernamental con el impulso de la investigaci\u00f3n biom\u00e9dica y la innovaci\u00f3n en salud en Barcelona.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Una vez finalizado el acto de firma en el Palau de la Generalitat, los representantes del Instituto Fraunhofer realizaron una visita a los nuevos laboratorios ubicados en el Parque Cient\u00edfico de Barcelona, en la que tambi\u00e9n participaron la consellera <strong>N\u00faria Montserrat<\/strong>, la secretaria general de Innovaci\u00f3n, <strong>Teresa Riesgo<\/strong>, el director general de Transferencia y Sociedad del Conocimiento, <strong>Javier Selva<\/strong>, y el gerente de Promoci\u00f3n Econ\u00f3mica, <strong>Miquel Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong>, acompa\u00f1ados por el director del Instituto de Bioingenier\u00eda de Catalu\u00f1a (IBEC), <strong>Josep Samitier<\/strong>, el rector de la Universidad de Barcelona (UB), <strong>Joan Gu\u00e0rdia<\/strong>, y la directora del Parque Cient\u00edfico, <strong>Maria Terrades<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Las instituciones implicadas han acordado una financiaci\u00f3n global de 26,5 millones de euros hasta 2031. La Generalitat aportar\u00e1 14 millones de euros, el Ayuntamiento 8 millones y el Ministerio de Ciencia 4,5 millones para impulsar el nuevo Centro Fraunhofer CAT. El centro, que cuenta con la colaboraci\u00f3n del Instituto de Bioingenier\u00eda de Catalu\u00f1a (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcb.ub.edu\/es\/empresa\/institut-de-bioenginyeria-de-catalunya-ibec\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IBEC<\/a>) \u2014tambi\u00e9n ubicado en el Parque Cient\u00edfico de Barcelona\u2014, distribuir\u00e1 los pagos a lo largo de los pr\u00f3ximos a\u00f1os. Seg\u00fan las previsiones del Ayuntamiento, la puesta en marcha del centro permitir\u00e1 crear alrededor de 100 puestos de trabajo y generar una rentabilidad de 10 euros en servicios por cada euro de inversi\u00f3n p\u00fablica transcurridos siete a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<p>Ser\u00e1 la primera sede en Espa\u00f1a de Fraunhofer, instituci\u00f3n europea l\u00edder en investigaci\u00f3n aplicada y en la transferencia del conocimiento cient\u00edfico al mercado. Fundada en Alemania, la organizaci\u00f3n tiene como misi\u00f3n transformar los avances cient\u00edficos en soluciones y productos de impacto social y econ\u00f3mico. Foto \/ UB<\/p><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Una alianza estrat\u00e9gica para la innovaci\u00f3n europea<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>La inauguraci\u00f3n del Fraunhofer CAT en el Parque Cient\u00edfico de Barcelona representa un paso clave en la promoci\u00f3n de la bioingenier\u00eda aplicada a la salud, con un enfoque en la investigaci\u00f3n en teragnosis, que combina diagn\u00f3stico y terapia de precisi\u00f3n. Su objetivo es impulsar nuevas herramientas para el diagn\u00f3stico, el pron\u00f3stico y la selecci\u00f3n de terapias personalizadas, acelerando la transferencia de conocimiento hacia la pr\u00e1ctica cl\u00ednica y la industria biotecnol\u00f3gica.<\/p>\n<p>El proyecto nace de la colaboraci\u00f3n consolidada entre el Instituto Fraunhofer de Ingenier\u00eda Biom\u00e9dica (IBMT) y el IBEC, dos instituciones de investigaci\u00f3n de referencia. El nuevo centro combinar\u00e1 la experiencia del IBEC con la trayectoria de la Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, uniendo las fortalezas del IBEC en bioingenier\u00eda, biosensores y sistemas biomim\u00e9ticos para aplicaciones biom\u00e9dicas con la experiencia del Fraunhofer IBMT en tecnolog\u00eda de procesos de c\u00e9lulas madre y microsistemas basados en c\u00e9lulas.<\/p>\n<p>Su actividad se centrar\u00e1 en el desarrollo de tecnolog\u00edas avanzadas como biomodelos, \u00f3rganos en chip y terapias regenerativas, conectando el ecosistema catal\u00e1n de investigaci\u00f3n con redes internacionales.<\/p>\n<p>El objetivo de los investigadores ser\u00e1 desarrollar tecnolog\u00edas innovadoras que contribuyan al diagn\u00f3stico, pron\u00f3stico y selecci\u00f3n de terapias, facilitando el avance de la medicina de precisi\u00f3n.
