El art\u00edculo, publicado en la secci\u00f3n <em>Perspective <\/em>de la revista <em>Molecular Cell<\/em>, se ha elaborado conjuntamente con investigadores de la Goethe University Frankfurt, el CeMM y AITHYRA, en Viena, la Universidad de Dundee y la EPFL, en Lausana.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Estos enfoques terap\u00e9uticos, entre los cuales se encuentra la degradaci\u00f3n dirigida de prote\u00ednas a trav\u00e9s de PROTACs y <em>molecular glues<\/em>, as\u00ed como tecnolog\u00edas emergentes como la inteligencia artificial (IA), pretenden aprovechar el enorme potencial de la proximidad inducida para eliminar o modular prote\u00ednas que son terap\u00e9uticamente relevantes, muchas de las cuales actualmente se consideran no atacables.<\/p>\n<p>Los autores <strong>Ivan Dikic<\/strong>, <strong>Cristina Mayor-Ruiz<\/strong>, <strong>Georg Winter<\/strong>, <strong>Kerstin Koch<\/strong>, <strong>Alessio Ciulli<\/strong> y <strong>Nicolas Thom\u00e4<\/strong> destacan el papel fundamental del sector acad\u00e9mico en el avance de este campo y solicitan una colaboraci\u00f3n m\u00e1s estrecha entre el sector acad\u00e9mico y el industrial para que pueda liberarse todo su potencial terap\u00e9utico.<\/p>\n<p>Aprovechar la farmacolog\u00eda que induce proximidad entre prote\u00ednas aporta oportunidades sin precedentes para la modulaci\u00f3n de dianas terap\u00e9uticas que antes se consideraban imposibles. \u201cEsta alianza se ha dise\u00f1ado con el objetivo de fomentar la colaboraci\u00f3n entre el mundo acad\u00e9mico e industrial y as\u00ed acelerar los tiempos para lograr un impacto real en los pacientes\u201d, comenta la <strong>Dra. Cristina Mayor-Ruiz<\/strong>, l\u00edder del laboratorio de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irbbarcelona.org\/es\/research\/targeted-protein-degradation-and-drug-discovery\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Degradaci\u00f3n Dirigida de Prote\u00ednas y Descubrimiento de F\u00e1rmacos<\/a> en el IRB Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p>La revista Perspective in Molecular Cell describe avances cient\u00edficos recientes que incluyen la evoluci\u00f3n de los PROTACs, desde su concepto hasta su aplicaci\u00f3n cl\u00ednica, el dise\u00f1o racional de <em>molecular glues<\/em> y nuevas estrategias para redirigir la maquinaria de degradaci\u00f3n celular.
