La Fundaci\u00f3n \u201cla Caixa\u201d<\/a> ha seleccionado 29 nuevos proyectos en el marco de la convocatoria CaixaResearch de Investigaci\u00f3n en Salud 2024<\/a>, uno de los programas filantr\u00f3picos m\u00e1s importantes de investigaci\u00f3n en biomedicina de Espa\u00f1a y Portugal. Cinco de ellos est\u00e1n vinculados al Instituto de Bioingenier\u00eda de Catalu\u00f1a (IBEC<\/a>) y al Instituto de Investigaci\u00f3n Biom\u00e9dica (IRB Barcelona<\/a>), ubicados en el Parque Cient\u00edfico de Barcelona.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Benedetta Bolognesi<\/strong>, investigadora principal del grupo de\u00a0Transiciones de Fase de Prote\u00ednas en la Salud y la Enfermedad\u00a0en el IBEC, colaborar\u00e1 con investigadores en Australia para crear un mapa de las mutaciones de la prote\u00edna SOD1, asociadas a la Esclerosis Lateral Amiotr\u00f3fica (ELA). Este mapa permitir\u00e1 tanto mejorar el diagn\u00f3stico temprano de la enfermedad como abrir nuevas v\u00edas para el desarrollo de terapias dirigidas. Xavier Fern\u00e0ndez-Busquets<\/strong>, investigador principal del grupo de Nanomalaria\u00a0del IBEC y el Instituto de Salud Global (ISGlobal), colaborar\u00e1 con equipos de la Universitat de Barcelona (UB) y la Nanyang Technological University (Singapur) para dise\u00f1ar nuevos f\u00e1rmacos capaces de sortear las resistencias del par\u00e1sito de la malaria. Su objetivo es identificar mol\u00e9culas que inhiban las prote\u00ednas agregadas de\u00a0Plasmodium<\/em>, esenciales para la supervivencia del par\u00e1sito. Xavier Trepat<\/strong>, profesor de investigaci\u00f3n ICREA en el IBEC, d\u00f3nde lidera el grupo de Din\u00e1mica integrativa de c\u00e9lulas y tejidos, y profesor en la UB, liderar\u00e1 un proyecto en colaboraci\u00f3n con Eduard Batlle (IRB Barcelona) y Marino Arroyo (CIMNE) para desarrollar un modelo en chip y su gemelo digital para replica el microentorno de un tumor de colon. Este sistema permitir\u00e1 estudiar las interacciones mec\u00e1nicas y qu\u00edmicas entre c\u00e9lulas tumorales y su entorno, facilitando el desarrollo y prueba de inmunoterapias. Eduard\u00a0Batlle<\/strong>, jefe del laboratorio de C\u00e1ncer Colorrectal del IRB Barcelona, adem\u00e1s de colaborar en la investigaci\u00f3n liderada por Xavier Trepat en el IBEC, tambi\u00e9n estar\u00e1 al frente de otro proyecto para estudiar los diferentes estados que adoptan las c\u00e9lulas metast\u00e1ticas cuando se diseminan por el organismo y entender los mecanismos que los permiten cambiar sus propiedades en funci\u00f3n de las se\u00f1ales ambientales que van encontrando. La Fundaci\u00f3n \u201cla Caixa\u201d impulsar\u00e1 tambi\u00e9n una innovadora investigaci\u00f3n dirigida por Roger Gomis<\/strong>, jefe del laboratorio Control del Crecimiento y Met\u00e1stasis del C\u00e1ncer del IRB Barcelona, que busca profundizar en el estudio de los factores que confieren plasticidad a las c\u00e9lulas tumorales metast\u00e1ticas e intentar encontrar nuevas v\u00edas para evitar esta plasticidad, con el fin de frenar el proceso de desarrollo de met\u00e1stasis secundarias y prevenir las muertes asociadas a la met\u00e1stasis del c\u00e1ncer de mama. Apoyo de 25,7 millones a proyectos de investigaci\u00f3n en biomedicina<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Dentro de la s\u00e9ptima edici\u00f3n<\/a> de la convocatoria CaixaResearch de Investigaci\u00f3n en Salud -a la cual se han presentado 580 propuestas de investigaci\u00f3n biom\u00e9dica b\u00e1sica, cl\u00ednica y traslacional- la Fundaci\u00f3n \u201dla Caixa\u201d ha seleccionado 29 nuevos proyectos de excelencia con gran impacto social, que se llevar\u00e1n a cabo en varios centros, hospitales y universidades de Espa\u00f1a y Portugal.La convocatoria -dotada este a\u00f1o con 25,7 millones de euros- se lleva a cabo en colaboraci\u00f3n con la Funda\u00e7\u00e3o para a Ci\u00eancia e a Tecnolog\u00eda (FCT), organismo p\u00fablico vinculado al Ministerio de Educaci\u00f3n, Ciencia e innovaci\u00f3n de Portugal, y tambi\u00e9n tiene apoyo de la Fundaci\u00f3n Luz\u00f3n, que subvenciona, junto con la Fundaci\u00f3n \u201dla Caixa\u201d, un proyecto sobre la esclerosis lateral amiotr\u00f3fica (ELA). Las ayudas proporcionan un apoyo econ\u00f3mico de hasta 500.000 euros a proyectos presentados por una \u00fanica organizaci\u00f3n, y de hasta un mill\u00f3n de euros a proyectos presentados por consorcios de entre 2 y 5 instituciones. Todos tendr\u00e1n hasta 3 a\u00f1os para ejecutar sus investigaciones.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
