The Sustainability, Quality and Occupational Safety area worked together with the PCB Science Dissemination area to put consumable laboratory materials and glassware left by a company that recently vacated its facilities within the PCB to good use.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Specifically, the PCB donated 30 packs of this laboratory equipment to schools classified as “high complexity”. This is the positive designation applied by the Superior Council for the Evaluation of the Educational System<\/a>\u00a0to schools that need to receive more human and material resources to guarantee equal opportunities and the right to education. The most complex centres take in families from developing countries or pupils with special educational needs in order to identify families in economically vulnerable situations and at significant social risk.<\/p>\n

The schools that have benefited from this action are located in Badalona, Barcelona, Canovelles, Cornell\u00e0 de Llobregat, Granollers, L\u2019Hospitalet de Llobregat, Matar\u00f3, Montcada i Reixac, Rub\u00ed, Sabadell, Santa Coloma de Gramenet, Santa Margarida de Montbui, Tarragona and Terrassa.<\/p>\n

Reusing laboratory glassware reduces waste, for responsible consumption and production (SDG 12), and promotes quality education (SDG 4). Both objectives are strategic projects in the deployment of the PCB’s Sustainability Plan<\/a> and its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Among these: working for a fairer, more inclusive society that respects environmental limits.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
