{"id":79439,"date":"2022-11-24T11:02:27","date_gmt":"2022-11-24T10:02:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pcb.ub.edu\/?p=79439"},"modified":"2023-03-31T13:22:05","modified_gmt":"2023-03-31T11:22:05","slug":"ccitub-and-pcb-proteomics-units-join-forces-to-bolster-biomolecular-analysis-services","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pcb.ub.edu\/en\/ccitub-and-pcb-proteomics-units-join-forces-to-bolster-biomolecular-analysis-services\/","title":{"rendered":"CCiTUB and PCB proteomics units join forces to bolster biomolecular analysis services"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Following instructions from the Government of Catalonia to join forces and give Catalonia more powerful, efficient and competitive centralised proteomics units, the Barcelona Science Park (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcb.ub.edu\/\">PCB<\/a>) proteomics platform will be joining the Scientific and Technological Centres (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ccit.ub.edu\/CA\/home.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CCiTUB<\/a>) to strengthen the offering of (bio)molecular analysis services.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The strategic location at the PCB will allow the unit to integrate all the laboratories involved under one roof for better synergies among them, providing efficient service to both the academic and business arenas, mainly in the health sector. The new unit will offer proteomics services but also molecular-interaction studies and small-molecule analyses, allowing for more complete studies based on the nature of the compounds to be analysed.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of staff, the unit will have a team of up to eleven specialised technicians with extensive experience in proteomics, molecular interactions and small-molecule analysis.<\/p>\n<p>It is also worth noting the equipment at the laboratories, which will have latest-generation instruments like the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ccit.ub.edu\/CA\/2022\/new20220420.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">new Q-TOF high-resolution mass spectrometer<\/a><sup>1<\/sup> with trapped ion mobility and connection to a UHPLC system that is already in use, and two new mass spectrometers<sup>2 <\/sup>connected to an ultra-high resolution liquid chromatography system that will be installed in the coming months, allowing scientists to determine the exact mass and chemical structure of organic substances in complex samples.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to these laboratories, the CCiTUB has various units at the PCB serving companies with complex science and technology needs in cytometry, genomics, nuclear magnetic resonance, polymorphism and calorimetry and cryogenic electron microscopy.<\/p>\n<p><sup>1 Paid for with ERDF funds (2019)<br \/>\n<\/sup><sup>2 Paid for with Next Generation funds, EQC2021 CALL (2021)<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Following instructions from the Government of Catalonia to join forces and give Catalonia more powerful, efficient and competitive centralised proteomics units, the Barcelona Science Park (PCB) proteomics platform will be&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":11,"featured_media":79427,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"inline_featured_image":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[38],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-79439","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-pcb-en"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 -
