{"id":79110,"date":"2022-11-08T13:44:46","date_gmt":"2022-11-08T12:44:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pcb.ub.edu\/biocat-to-coordinate-future-advanced-therapies-hub-of-catalonia\/"},"modified":"2022-11-17T11:03:38","modified_gmt":"2022-11-17T10:03:38","slug":"biocat-to-coordinate-future-advanced-therapies-hub-of-catalonia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pcb.ub.edu\/en\/biocat-to-coordinate-future-advanced-therapies-hub-of-catalonia\/","title":{"rendered":"Biocat to coordinate future Advanced Therapies Hub of Catalonia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Catalan Minister of Health Manel Balcells announced in a\u00a0press conference\u00a0today that the Government will be creating the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/govern.cat\/salapremsa\/notes-premsa\/454962\/govern-encarrega-al-departament-salut-creacio-del-centre-nacional-terapies-avancades\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Centre Nacional de Ter\u00e0pies Avan\u00e7ades (CNTA)<\/a>, featuring a key element of the future Advanced Therapies Hub of Catalonia, which will be coordinated by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcb.ub.edu\/en\/empresa\/biocat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Biocat<\/a> -from its headquarters to the Barcelona Science Park- in order to secure the whole value chain needed to develop these technologies, from generation to access to the healthcare system and market.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/govern.cat\/salapremsa\/notes-premsa\/454962\/govern-encarrega-al-departament-salut-creacio-del-centre-nacional-terapies-avancades\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Centre Nacional de Ter\u00e0pies Avan\u00e7ades (CNTA)<\/a> will become a facility that will work to connect the industrial fabric and the generation of advanced therapies under the framework of the public health and research and innovation systems. The Blood and Tissue Bank will be in charge of coordinating the shaping of the new centre, which will present its operating plan in February 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The new centre will help boost hospitals\u2019 capacity to do clinical trials on these therapies and establish the process for development and industrial scale-up.
