The Bosch i Gimpera Foundation (FBG)<\/a> celebrates 38 years this year as the technology and knowledge transfer office of the University of Barcelona. During this time, the entity, located in the Barcelona Science Park, has multiplied its efforts to connect the capacities of university researchers and the business world with the aim of transferring research results to society and improving people’s lives.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Bosch i Gimpera Foundation (FBG) was created in 1983 by the University of Barcelona precisely as an instrument that was to help establish a relationship between the university and society, and since 1996 it has acted as the Office for the Transfer of Innovation Results (OTRI).<\/p>\n

In that first year 1983, the FBG managed 10 innovation projects for an amount of \u20ac 480,000. By the end of 2020, the Foundation had managed 720 projects worth \u20ac 41,93 million euros.<\/p>\n

In 1997 it collaborated in the creation of the Barcelona Science Park (PCB), where its offices are currently located. The fact of being located in the PCB – one of the ecosystems referring to Europe in scientific, technological and business innovation in life sciences and a privileged environment to promote research of excellence, knowledge transfer and entrepreneurship – allows the Foundation to be in direct contact with a community of more than one hundred public and private entities.<\/p>\n
