{"id":59896,"date":"2021-02-12T15:40:10","date_gmt":"2021-02-12T14:40:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pcb.ub.edu\/glycardial-completes-recruitment-of-patients-for-edica-trial-to-validate-its-novel-diagnostic-device-for-myocardial-ischemia\/"},"modified":"2021-02-16T18:30:31","modified_gmt":"2021-02-16T17:30:31","slug":"glycardial-completes-recruitment-of-patients-for-edica-trial-to-validate-its-novel-diagnostic-device-for-myocardial-ischemia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pcb.ub.edu\/en\/glycardial-completes-recruitment-of-patients-for-edica-trial-to-validate-its-novel-diagnostic-device-for-myocardial-ischemia\/","title":{"rendered":"GlyCardial completes patient enrolment in the EDICA trial to validate its novel diagnostic device for myocardial ischemia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcb.ub.edu\/en\/empresa\/glycardial-diagnostics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">GlyCardial Diagnostics<\/a>, based in the Barcelona Science Park, announces the completion of the recruitment in the EDICA trial, a multicenter international <em>in vitro<\/em> study \u2013which will involve ten hospitals from in Spain and United Kingdom (UK)\u2013 designed to validate the performance of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.glycardial.com\/index.php\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Apo J-Glyc<\/a> as a novel biomarker for the early detection of myocardial ischaemia. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The study has been conducted in 10 sites in UK and Spain: Lister Hospital &#8211; East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, West Middlesex University Hospital,\u00a0 Hospital Universitario La Paz, Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, Hospital Universitario Central de Asturias, Hospital Cl\u00ednico Universitario de Santiago, Hospital \u00c1lvaro Cunqueiro, Hospital Universitario San Juan de Alicante , Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Mara\u00f1\u00f3n i Hospital Universitario Virgen Macarena.<\/p>\n<p>This is a key milestone for the company that has been possible due to the commitment and hard work of all the sites, and even more in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>The EDICA trial it is designed to validate the performance of Apo J-Glyc as a novel biomarker for the early detection of myocardial ischaemia, and is part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aglyc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">AGLYC Project<\/a>, funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme SME Instrument.<\/p>\n<p>The validation of this novel biomarker will be an important breakthrough in the cardiovascular field, as currently there are no specific biomarkers for the early detection of ischemia.
