Participants can attend individual sessions, without having to sign up for the whole course.<\/p>\n<p>New sessions kick off in early 2015 covering topics in medical technology, financing and business management. Noteworthy among these include the courses on medical robotics, medical device regulations and market access, and reimbursement strategy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>The challenges of medical robotics<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As part of the MOEBIO Short Program entitled\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/moebio.org\/programs\/otherprograms\/short-programs\/4-the-future-of-healthcare\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The future of healthcare<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.upc.edu\/saladepremsa\/al-dia\/mes-noticies\/josep-amat-premi-d2019honor-de-la-nit-de-les-telecomunicacions-i-la-informatica-2013?set_language=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Josep Amat<\/a>, professor at the Polytechnic University of California and world-renowned expert in applied robotics, will give a session on\u00a09 February\u00a0explaining what robotics is and the different types of medical robotics available. He will also discuss current trends in robotics \u2013particularly in terms of robotic surgery and artificial intelligence\u2013, the challenges to be tackled in the future and the companies currently working in this field. Anyone interested in attending must\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amiando.com\/The_Future_of_Healthcare.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sign up<\/a>\u00a0by 6 February at 12 pm.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Medical device regulations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thursday\u00a012 February, Luis Soenksen, medtec for businesspeople entrepreneur, program manager at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/alandramedical.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alandra Medical<\/a>\u00a0and fellowship director of the d\u00b7HEALTH BCN program, will give a two-part session under the Short Program on\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/moebio.org\/programs\/otherprograms\/short-programs\/3-medical-devices\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Medical devices<\/a>\u00a0explaining the differences in the regulatory process for healthcare devices and pharmaceutical products in the main market (United States) under the Multiple Technology Appraisal (MTA).\u00a0Anyone interested in attending must\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amiando.com\/medical_devices.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sign up<\/a>\u00a0by 11 February at 12 pm.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Market access, strategic reimbursement and execution<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The MOEBIO Short Program\u00a0Medical devices\u00a0will also feature a course on\u00a026 February\u00a0withMeike Bomhof\u00a0\u2013senior associate in Europe for\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hullassociates.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HullAssociates<\/a>\u2013speaking on reimbursement, a key process in the medical technology sector. He will explain what reimbursement is, the differences between countries and available implementation strategies for creating medical technology companies.
