The institute had a stand in the exhibition area, where the representatives of the IBEC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibecbarcelona.eu\/for-industry\/knowledge-exchange-unit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Technology Transfer Unit<\/a> welcomed the interested visitors to learn more about the 3D bioprinting capabilities of IBEC.<\/p>\n<p>Also, IBEC took the opportunity to show other relevant inventions in the field of diagnosis, wound care, sensory and determination of volatile gases.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is very important for us to be able to show at INDUSTRY the different industrial fields in which IBEC is already working, and very specifically in the field of 3D bioprinting\u201d, said Xavier Rubies, Head of Technology Transfer at IBEC.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Javier Ram\u00f3n, Principal Investigator at IBEC, participated in the round table organized by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.healthio-global.com\/en\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HEALTHIO<\/a> on \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.industry.website\/en\/agenda\/-\/agenda-actividades\/State-of-the-art-in-BIO-Printing\/10381\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">State of the art in BIO Printing<\/a>\u201d chaired by Josep Samitier, IBEC Director. Javier Ram\u00f3n gave a talk about the work they are doing in their 3D bioprinting laboratory and the organ-on-a-chip. The other participants in the round table were Axel Guenther, professor at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mie.utoronto.ca\/faculty_staff\/guenther\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">University of Toronto<\/a> at the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Engineering, and Tamer Mohamed, director of the company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aspectbiosystems.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Aspect Biosystems<\/a>. The session was dedicated to how bioprinting can contribute to the health field.<\/p>\n<p>On the 31st, IBEC organized a round table &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibecbarcelona.eu\/ca\/event\/round-table-3d-printing-in-healthcare-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">3D Printing in healthcare<\/a>&#8221; where Tamer Mohamed gave a talk on how to go step forward, from the research that is carried out in the laboratory to the market. He also presented the latest trends in 3D bioprinting and its application to health. The company Aspect Biosystems focuses on strategically partnering with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, as well as academic researchers, to create physiologically and commercially relevant tissues.
