One of the outcomes of this project is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.esteve.es\/EsteveFront\/CargarPagina.do?pagina=idi_rd_portfolio_E-58425.jsp&amp;div=idi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">E-58425<\/a>, for which a new entity co-crystal patent was granted in Europe in 2013 and in the USA in 2014, that will rapidly move to Phase III clinical trials thanks to the \u00a0global partnership of Esteve and Mundipharma-Purdue.<\/p>\n<p>This development comes at an opportune moment when both FDA and EMA have recently given their guidance on the regulatory aspects of pharmaceutical cocrystals, thus paving the way to a new generation of drugs based on the cocrystallization concept.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement between Esteve and Mundipharma-Purdue covers some additional assets that range from preclinical to clinical development and can represent payments to Esteve exceeding $1bn if all development, regulatory and sales milestones are met across all projects.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An innovative cocrystal, obtained by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.enantia.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Enantia<\/a>\u00a0\u2013based at the Parc Cient\u00edfic de Barcelona\u2013\u00a0working in collaboration with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.esteve.es\/EsteveFront\/IDI.do?&amp;lng=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Esteve R&amp;D<\/a>, is part of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.esteve.es\/EsteveFront\/PressRoom.do?op=GR&amp;div=idi&amp;lng=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">global partnership <\/a>recently announced by Esteve and Mundipharma-Purdue.
