The fair,\u00a0organized by the\u00a0Obra Social \u201dla Caixa”<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0the\u00a0Barcelona Science Park (PCB)\u00a0\u2013under the Research In Society<\/a>\u00a0program\u2013,\u00a0aims to bring science to society and promote scientific vocations among young people. This year, it is taking place with the support of\u00a0and the\u00a0Barcelona City Council<\/a>\u00a0and the collaboration of the University of Barcelona<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Eleven research groups from several centers in Catalonia will move\u00a0to this emblematic site in order that visitors can participate in experiments related to their current projects using the same tools and materials commonly used. To encourage interaction with the public, every booth will have an enigma that attendees will have to resolve by following the scientific methodology.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0opening ceremony\u00a0of the fair will\u00a0take\u00a0place on 7th April at 11.00\u00a0am, and\u00a0will be attended by\u00a0Dr.\u00a0D\u00eddac\u00a0Ram\u00edrez,\u00a0Rector\u00a0of the\u00a0University\u00a0of\u00a0Barcelona; Dr. Josep Antoni Plana,\u00a0General Director of PCB;\u00a0Jordi Portabella, Director of the\u00a0Area\u00a0of Science,\u00a0Research\u00a0and Environment at\u00a0”la Caixa” Banking\u00a0Foundation; Lluis Noguera,\u00a0Director of\u00a0CosmoCaixa, and Javier Hidalgo, Head of Science Exhibitions at\u00a0”la Caixa” Banking\u00a0Foundation.<\/p>\n
