IPROTech technology represents the scientific core on which the spinoff carries its activity out. This technology allows researchers design future drugs based on peptides, called peptidometics, and enables researchers to speed up their research and get new molecules which can become future drugs. In 2016, biotechnology raised \u20ac 1,5 million in private capital. With this money, Iproteos reached the \u20ac 3 million in external capital with public and private investments.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Awards of the Board of Trustees of the University of Barcelona (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ub.edu\/web\/ub\/en\/index.html?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">UB<\/a>) and Bosch i Gimpera Foundation\u00a0(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pcb.ub.edu\/portal\/en\/cerca?p_p_id=cercador_WAR_empleatsempresesportlet&amp;p_p_lifecycle=0&amp;p_p_state=maximized&amp;p_p_mode=view&amp;p_p_col_id=column-1&amp;p_p_col_count=1&amp;_cercador_WAR_empleatsempresesportlet_jspPage=%2Fhtml%2Fcommon%2Fdetall-empresa.jsp&amp;_cercador_WAR_empleatsempresesportlet_empresaId=ENT_000669&amp;_cercador_WAR_empleatsempresesportlet_redirect=%2Fportal%2Fca%2Fcerca%3Fp_p_id%3Dcercador_WAR_empleatsempresesportlet%26p_p_lifecycle%3D0%26p_p_mode%3Dview%26_cercador_WAR_empleatsempresesportlet_tab%3D1%26_cercador_WAR_empleatsempresesportlet_keywords%3Dgimpera\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FBG<\/a>) are granted\u00a0in two categories: the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/eventsfbg.fbg.ub.edu\/premis\/images\/Programa\/Bases_Premis.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Antoni Caparr\u00f3s Prize<\/a>\u00a0for the best knowledge transfer project, and the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/eventsfbg.fbg.ub.edu\/premis\/images\/Programa\/Bases_Premis.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sen\u00e9n Vilar\u00f3 Prize<\/a>\u00a0for the best innovative company. Since its creation in 2008, this\u00a0prizes are aimed at increasing the social returns of knowledge acquired through academic study and research, highlighting the value of knowledge and technology transfer and innovation projects, driving the creation of innovative knowledge-based companies, giving recognition to the capacity for innovation of these companies, and instilling a culture of entrepreneurial spirit in the UB group.<\/p>\n<div>The rector of the University of Barcelona, Joan Elias, the acting president of the Board of Trustees, Joan Corominas, and the director of Bosch i Gimpera Foundation, Carme Verdager, awarded the prizes to this year\u2019s awardees at\u00a0the Aula Magna of the Historical Building of the UB.\u00a0In this ceremony,\u00a0Professor Guillem Anglada Escud\u00e9, doctor in Physics by the University of Barcelona and lecturer of Astrophysics at the Queen Mary University of London, gave a conference.
