{"id":49835,"date":"2019-05-21T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-05-20T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pcb.ub.edu\/glycardial-diagnostics-wins-the-emprendedorxxi-2019-award-in-the-health-tech-category\/"},"modified":"2020-11-18T15:04:42","modified_gmt":"2020-11-18T14:04:42","slug":"glycardial-diagnostics-wins-the-emprendedorxxi-2019-award-in-the-health-tech-category","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pcb.ub.edu\/en\/glycardial-diagnostics-wins-the-emprendedorxxi-2019-award-in-the-health-tech-category\/","title":{"rendered":"GlyCardial Diagnostics wins the EmprendedorXXI 2019 Award in the &#8216;Health Tech&#8217; category"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.glycardial.com\/\" style=\"font-weight: 200\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">GlyCardial Diagnostics<\/a>, created in\u00a02017, is a\u00a0spin-off\u00a0of Institut de Recerca de l\u2019Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.recercasantpau.cat\/es\/instituto\/informacion-corporativa\/presentacion\/\" style=\"font-weight: 200\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">IR-HSCSP<\/a>) and the Superior Council of Scientific Investigations (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.csic.es\/\" style=\"font-weight: 200\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CSIC<\/a>), promoted by Judit Cubedo, a doctor in biology.\u00a0The biotechnology company is developing an in vitro diagnostic device (IVD) for the early detection of cardiac ischaemia and prediciting progress in pattients after suffering an ischaemic event.<\/p>\n<p>The six winners in this 2019 edition of the EmprendedorXXI Awards have received EUR\u00a025,000 and specialized\u00a0mentoring\u00a0by heads of the CaixaBank business areas who support these awards in their respective categories. They will also be able to enjoy an international support programme in Silicon Valley, organized by Esade in collaboration with Singularity University, or an international business growth course, Ignite Fast Track, from the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom).<\/p>\n<p>The award ceremony last Tuesday at Caixaforum Madrid as part of the \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dayoneinnovationsummit.com\/ES\/madrid\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">DayOne Innovation Summit<\/a>\u2019 Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship Day, a new programme created by CaixaBank DayOne, which brought together the main players of the entrepreneur, technology and investor ecosystem in several sessions throughout Spain.\u00a0 At the event, Juan Antonio Alcaraz, CEO of CaixaBank, highlighted the role of these awards: \u2018The EmprendedorXXI Awards is our way of recognizing those entrepreneurs who help improve our business ecosystem. We want to reward relevant innovation initiatives, which help create wealth.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.emprendedorxxi.es\/que-es-exxi\/\" style=\"font-weight: 200\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">EmprendedorXXI\u00a0Awards\u00a0<\/a>are promoted by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.caixabank.com\/index_es.html\" style=\"font-weight: 200\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CaixaBank<\/a>, through\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dayonecaixabank.es\/sobre-dayone\/\" style=\"font-weight: 200\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">DayOne<\/a>, its specialized division for technology and innovation companies and their investors, and co-sponsored by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, through\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.enisa.es\/\" style=\"font-weight: 200\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Enisa<\/a>.
