On the one hand and on a yearly basis, the laboratory contributes financially as a member of Farmamundi&#8217;s Humanitarian and Emergency Aid Fund (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.farmaceuticosmundi.org\/farmamundi\/fondo-de-ayuda-humanitaria-y-emergencias.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FAHE<\/a>). This allows immediate action to be taken in case of natural disaster, armed conflict, and chronic health imbalance situations. On the other hand, the company\u00a0donates medicines to meet current needs on the field. These medicines are distributed by Farmamundi&#8217;s Humanitarian and Logistics Area (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.farmaceuticosmundi.org\/farmamundi\/en\/index.php?pag=ALH&amp;opcion=estaticas&amp;id=48\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ALH<\/a>) to hospitals, clinics and maternal and child health centers, where they are most needed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In 2016 ESTEVE donated medicines that were distributed in the course of 42 expeditions performed in 23 countries. With the support of 28 organizations, these medicines were distributed to hospitals, clinics, health centers, welcome centers for sick people, refugee camps, orphanages and nursing homes in Cameroon, C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire, Ghana, Madagascar, Malawi, and Mali,\u00a0among other countries.\u00a0In addition to its collaboration as an in-kind donor, Esteve \u00a0also participates as a member of the Emergency Fund whereby Farmamundi provides many families with medical care, basic foodstuffs, medicines and personal hygiene items. Also, awareness campaigns are conducted in countries affected by humanitarian crises or natural disasters.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>After more than six years of armed conflict, food and health care for refugee families in Syria will continue to be a priority. Farmamundi &#8211; supported by Esteve &#8211; and the local NGO Jafra Foundation will continue to distribute food and basic necessities to more than 3,000 internally displaced people.
