{"id":49705,"date":"2019-02-26T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-02-25T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pcb.ub.edu\/barcelona-science-park-takes-part-in-yomo-for-the-third-year-running\/"},"modified":"2020-11-18T14:58:00","modified_gmt":"2020-11-18T13:58:00","slug":"barcelona-science-park-takes-part-in-yomo-for-the-third-year-running","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pcb.ub.edu\/en\/barcelona-science-park-takes-part-in-yomo-for-the-third-year-running\/","title":{"rendered":"Barcelona Science Park takes part in YoMo for the third year running"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>YoMo is part of <a href=\"http:\/\/mschools.mobileworldcapital.com\/es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">mSchools<\/a>, a programme to help students and teachers to effectively integrate mobile technologies into the classroom driven by the <a href=\"https:\/\/mobileworldcapital.com\/es\/2017\/02\/09\/mschools-en-yomo-barcelona\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mobile World Capital Barcelona Foundation<\/a>, sponsored by the Ministry of Economics and Business, the Regional Government of Catalonia, Barcelona City Council, Fira de Barcelona (Barcelona\u2019s trade fair institution) and GSMA, and which also has the support of private companies that contribute to the development of the digital ecosystem in the city.<\/p>\n<p>In this edition of YoMo, over a hundred public and private companies from the scientific and technology fields will take part, including Barcelona Science Park, which will be in attendance on Tuesday 26 February with its own stand in the Science space, where it will offer an interactive workshop \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mwcyomo.com\/ca\/activities\/fes-recerca-investiga-amb-cel%C2%B7lules-gens\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Investigate with cells and genes<\/a>\u201d aimed at students and their teachers to experience and discover the scientific world first-hand.<\/p>\n<p>The activities will be led by Montserrat Romero and Ignacio Castrill\u00f3n, researchers from the Laboratory of Mitochondria and Complex Metabolic Diseases of the Biomedical Research Institute (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pcb.ub.edu\/portal\/es\/cerca?p_p_id=cercador_WAR_empleatsempresesportlet&amp;p_p_lifecycle=0&amp;p_p_state=maximized&amp;p_p_mode=view&amp;p_p_col_id=column-1&amp;p_p_col_count=1&amp;_cercador_WAR_empleatsempresesportlet_jspPage=%2Fhtml%2Fcommon%2Fdetall-empresa.jsp&amp;_cercador_WAR_empleatsempresesportlet_empresaId=ENT_000001&amp;_cercador_WAR_empleatsempresesportlet_redirect=%2Fportal%2Fca%2Fcerca%3Fp_p_id%3Dcercador_WAR_empleatsempresesportlet%26p_p_lifecycle%3D0%26p_p_state%3Dnormal%26p_p_mode%3Dview%26p_p_col_id%3Dcolumn-1%26p_p_col_count%3D1%26_cercador_WAR_empleatsempresesportlet_keywords%3DIRB%26_cercador_WAR_empleatsempresesportlet_tab%3D1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">IRB Barcelona<\/a>), who will work closely with participants to conduct an experiment as part of a research project that is currently ongoing at the PCB laboratories. And they will do this using the experimental protocols, techniques, instruments and materials that scientists routinely use.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, taking advantage of the occasion of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mwcbarcelona.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MWC19<\/a> Barcelona, PCB will present a new mobile application <a href=\"https:\/\/recercaensocietat.wordpress.com\/rercercapp-un-laboratori-a-la-teva-butxaca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RecercAPP- A laboratory in your pocket!<\/a> which, through augmented reality, enables laboratory experiments from the PCB <a href=\"https:\/\/recercaensocietat.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Research in Society<\/a> programme to be conducted.
