Carmen Vela, accompanied by the director of IBEC, Josep Samitier, has toured the facilities of the institute, and has spoken with the researchers responsible for the main laboratories, showing great interest in the various research projects that are being developed in areas such as nanomedicine, biophysics, biotechnology, tissue engineering and applications of information technology in the field of health.<\/p>\n

During the visit, the Secretary of State, has also been able to check\u00a0 last generation infrastructure IBEC\u00b4s infrastructures, an internationally renowned institute in the boundaries of engineering and life sciences which currently has 17 research groups and 250 researchers from 20 different countries. Its location at PCB provides a very stimulating biomedical setting in order to work closely with public and private organizations interested in biomedical applications of nanotechnology biomedical environment.<\/p>\n

Previously, Vela had participated in the opening ceremony of a new edition of B\u00b7Debate at Cosmocaixa Barcelona, which this time focuses on precision medicine or personalized medicine. The event will bring together internationally renowned scientists for 2 days who will discuss and reflect on the most innovative basic research and preclinical testing of new drugs, including the latest advances in molecular biology, genomics, nanotechnology, and bioinformatics tools.<\/p>\n
