Compared to transcriptional regulation, the translational control of existing mRNAs\u00ad\u2014RNAs are the molecules that carry genetic information for protein synthesis\u2014allows a faster response to stimuli.\u00a0.in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.irbbarcelona.org\/en\/research\/translational-control-of-cell-cycle-and-differentiation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Translational Control of Cell Cycle and Differentiation Laboratory<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The study \u2013performed by researchers\u00a0in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.irbbarcelona.org\/en\/research\/translational-control-of-cell-cycle-and-differentiation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Translational Control of Cell Cycle and Differentiation Laboratory<\/a>\u00a0at IRB Barcelona, and\u00a0headed by ICREA Research Professor\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.irbbarcelona.org\/en\/profile\/raul-mendez\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ra\u00fal M\u00e9ndez<\/a>\u2013\u00a0reveals the interplay between the proteins CPEB1 and Musashi1 (Msi1) in the regulation of mRNA translation.
