Albert Barber\u00e0 holds a degree in Chemistry and Pharmacy and a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Barcelona (UB). Since 2008, he has held several positions in science management, first as manager of the\u00a0Institute of Health Carlos III Spanish Biomedical Research Centre in Diabetes and Associated Metabolic Disorders\u00a0(CIBERDEM), later as scientific coordinator at\u00a0IDIBAPS\u00a0and, then, as director of the\u00a0Girona Biomedical Research Institute. He has held the position of Biocat CEO since December 2015.
