Fern\u00e1ndez, professor of Biology, University of Barcelona (UB) and contributor to the program, accompanied by the students and tutors involved in this initiative.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Tutoring for Secondary School Students&#8221; is part of the Knowledge Area of Fundaci\u00f3 Catalunya\u2013La Pedrera and the science outreach program \u00ab<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pcb.ub.edu\/portal\/el-pcb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Research in Society<\/a>\u00bb of the PCB. The initiative offers 11th grade students the possibility of carrying out the practical part of their research project at the different laboratories of organizations located at the PCB.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The \u00ab<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pcb.ub.edu\/portal\/el-pcb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Secondary Research<\/a>\u00bb programme concludes each year with the awarding of prizes to the winners of the best jobs, which will also be on exhibit at a stand in the \u00ab<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pcb.ub.edu\/portal\/el-pcb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Live Research Fair<\/a>\u00bb, which this year will be held at the <a href=\"http:\/\/obrasocial.lacaixa.es\/laCaixaFoundation\/research_en.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CosmoCaixa Barcelona<\/a>\u00a0from 8 to\u00a011 April and in the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/magmarecerca.org\/es\/exporecerca-2\/\">Exporecerca Jove<\/a>\u00a0fair at the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.salleurl.edu\/\">Campus La Salle<\/a>\u00a0from 26 to 28 March.\u00a0This will bring the students the opportunity to explain to the public the details of the research project they have carried out.<\/p>\n<p>The awards 2014-2015 have been given to students tutored by IRB Barcelona researchers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Adri\u00e0 Moncus\u00ed Armengol for the project &#8220;L&#8217;obesitat: teixits, c\u00e8l\u00b7lules i gens&#8221;,\u00a0from the Institut Salvador Vilaseca, Reus.\u00a0School tutor: Montserrat Plans.\u00a0IRB Barcelona Mentor: Alba Sabat\u00e9 from the IRB Barcelona.<\/li>\n<li>Cynthia Tramosa for the project &#8220;El c\u00e0ncer de mama&#8221;,\u00a0from Escola T\u00e8cnico-Professional Xavier, Barcelona. School tutor: Marc Roig. IRB Barcelona Mentor: Montserrat Romero de Pablos\u00a0from the IRB Barcelona.<\/li>\n<li>Molly Erin Geddis Berrow pel treball &#8220;The morphogenesis of the imaginal wing disc in\u00a0Drosophila melanogaster&#8221;, from the Institut Alella.
