\t\t\tThe paper by the team of the UB, entitled “Peroxisome Proliferator-activated Receptor-\u03b3 Coactivator-1\u03b1 Controls Transcription of the Sirt3 Gene, an Essential Component of the Thermogenic Brown Adipocyte Phenotype” focuses on the study of lipid metabolism and bioenergetics. The study reveals new leads on the molecular mechanisms of the control of the gene expression in the adipocytes of brown adipose tissue, which is responsible for the energy expenditure and the process of heat production in organisms (thermogenesis). <\/p>\n

The study is also signed by Albert Giralt, Elayne Hondares, Francesc Ribas, Julieta D\u00edaz-Delf\u00edn, Marta Giralt and Roser Iglesias, experts of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and of the IBUB, together with Josep A. Villena, of the Vall d’Hebron Research Institute. <\/p>\n
