\t\t\tUnder the slogan “Mai Ita Hamutuk Haburas Hanoin Ba Merkadu”, the Forum will bring together ideas to further develop the Timorese market and in doing so increase employment and entrepreneurship in a largely agricultural economy. It is the first event of its kind to take place in the country and coincides with the United Nations International Year of Cooperatives. <\/p>\n

The Forum is a joint initiative from the Ministry of Economy and Development of the Government of Timor-Leste, UNDP and other development partners. In his welcome remarks to delegates H.E. Jo\u00e3o Mendes Gon\u00e7alves, Minister of Economy and Development, said \u2018In its efforts to enhance investment in Timor-Leste the Government is supporting activities of the business sector, specifically facilitating access to credit and building institutions to encourage private enterprise. We welcome this opportunity to continue fostering growth and innovation’. <\/p>\n

Forum discussions will focus on challenges and opportunities for inclusive growth and will examine how to create economic and employment opportunities for the poor, women, youth and the disabled. The forum also includes an exhibit of good practices of cooperatives and micro, small and medium enterprises and a business resource center for practical information and advice to help participants develop and sustain their business activities. <\/p>\n

The Research Centre on Economics and Society (CIES) was created in Barcelona in 1992 its activity focuses on the study of the combination the different economic interests and social cohesion through research, academic teaching and dissemination of information, stimulating and giving support to the development of innovative projects and on the creation of platforms and networks that enhance their effects. CIES is part of the Barcelona Science Parc R+D+i, and is affiliated to the University of Barcelona (UB) to carry out joint research activities and training programs. <\/p>\n

Presently, the CIES Foundation offers two masters on CSR in which on-line training is combined with in-classroom sessions:\u00abMaster in Social Corporate Responsibility, Accounting and Social Auditing<\/a>\u00bb (MRS) and \u00abMaster in Social Economics and Management of Non-Profit Organizations<\/a>\u00bb (MES). Both bourses are organized by CIES and by the Continued Education Institute of the University of Barcelona (IL3), in collaboration with the George State University in Atlanta (USA). <\/p>\n

In addition, the Foundation offers a virtual campus making it possible for the foundation to offer an innovative training portfolio. The Foundation is also the promoter of the CIES Community <\/a>formed by students, researchers, teachers and professionals of the sector that provides permanence to the exchange of experiences. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
