“This congress has been a great step forward regarding the international dissemination and appreciation of multisensory research. This field demonstrates that our experience of the world does not consist of a collection of unlinked fragments of data, but that we perceive a whole and coherent unit through the integration of several senses,” commented Salvador Soto-Faraco, researcher with the Cognitive Neuroscience Group (GRNC) at the Universitat de Barcelona (UB, University of Barcelona) and organizer of the event. <\/p>\n
The congress, organized by the GRNC, which is located in the PCB facilities at the Hospital de Sant Joan de D\u00e9u, in collaboration with an international scientific committee, was held between 2 to 5 June in Sitges (Barcelona). The congress was also supported by the Dept. of Basic Psychology at the UB, the Spanish Society for Experimental Psychology (SEPEX), the former Ministry for Science and Technology and the Parc Cient\u00edfic de Barcelona, among others. The programme included a total of 126 contributions from researchers from 17 countries, some of which will be published in a special edition of the journal Experimental Brain Research. <\/p>\n
