This first issue is devoted to “The linguistic model in schools in Catalonia: balance and challenges”. The journal, which is published twice a year, aims to inform society about the work carried out by the university research community. In this regard, it intends to bring out a monographic series on themes of social interest, focusing on topics such as the linguistic model of the Spanish Constitution, communication and business, the teaching of foreign languages and the political policy in the European Union. Each of these monographic issues will be coordinated by distinct experts, who will organize the submission of articles by experts in the fields addressed. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
The electronic journal LSC – Llengua, Societat, Comunicaci\u00f3<\/a>, edited by the University Centre for Socio-linguistics and Communication of the UB (CUSC-UB<\/a>), located at the Parc Cient\u00edfic de Barcelona, has just been launched. This new journal was presented in the “Sala de Graus” at the Faculty of Philology at the end of March by the vice-rector of research, Jordi Suri\u00f1ach, the director of CUSC, Albert Bastardas, the coordinator of editorial committee, Josefina Carrera, and the coordinator of this first issue, F.
