Javier Mart\u00edn Vide has been awarded the 2004 Serra d’Or Research Prize (category Other Sciences) for his book entitled “The weather and the climate” (Editorial Rubes 2003), which addresses experts and the public at large interested in climatology. The work is one of dissemination and gives a global perspective of the climatic system, which includes the atmosphere, oceans, land surfaces, cryosphere or ice pack, biosphere and socioeconomic subsystem.<\/p>\n
