\t\t\tDuring the closing ceremony, three of the 36 students who have participated in the this, the seventh, edition will present the research tasks they have completed in the PCB during the two or three months of their stay. These projects have been selected on the basis of their quality and interest, but they are only a representative sample of the other projects, which are also of comparable quality. <\/p>\n

The following students will present their projects: Daniel Olivieri, who has worked at the Development and Growth Control Laboratory of the Institute of Biomedical Research (IRB Barcelona). He will report on: “Functional analysis of the microRNAs in the wing of Drosophila”. Anna Basora, who has done her practical in the Cognitive Science Research Group (GRNC), will present her project: “Epigenetics in speech perception”; and Raquel Boet , who has worked with the firm Medichem, will present her project: “Synthesis of a dual inhibitor of acetyl cholinesterase”. In recognition of their contribution, these three students will receive a free subscription to Nature for one year. <\/p>\n

With this edition, there are now some 200 students who have participated in the programme. According to recent surveys, it has been highly valued, by both the researchers and the students. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

On Thursday 25 September, the closing ceremony of the practical programme “Spend the Summer at the Park” , organised every year by the Barcelona Science Park (PCB), will be held at noon. This programme is directed towards students in the second cycle and aims to offer them the opportunity to participate in some of the research projects that are being carried out in the groups, institutes and firms that are now based in the PCB. The purpose is to bring them closer to the world of research.
