These conferences will bring together services, suppliers and customers in order to stimulate exchanges of experiences and knowledge, the establishment of relationships and the identification of new business opportunities as well as the definition of future trends in distinct sectors. <\/p>\n
The conference series “Entrepreneurs in expansion” forms part of the wide range of activities on offer this year. This series includes presentations by recognised figures in the business World, who will present their keys to success. Among others, this initiative will involve Lluis Ru\u00edz-\u00c1vila, director of Advancell, located at the Parc Cient\u00edfic de Barcelona (PCB), a company devoted to the development of new drugs from discoveries made by academic research groups. His presentation will be on March 14 from 9.30 to 10.20 h. <\/p>\n
Furthermore, on 14 March, at 17 h, the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation has organised an answer and question session called “How to protect innovation: patents and intellectual-industrial property”, to be given by Pascual Segura, director of the Patents Centre of the UB. This presentation will cover the basic aspects of protection, evaluation and marketing of research results. Another activity related to research is the “Transfer point: Knowledge Face to Face”, which seeks to stimulate new business opportunities through collaboration between the private sector and university research groups. <\/p>\n
In addition, the conference programme includes sessions devoted to funding; practical guidelines to facilitate the day-to-day activities of the entrepreneur; workshops to address skills related to innovation; seminars on trends; and a section devoted to institutional offers for entrepreneurs, among other activities. This year’s event will close on 15 March at 20.30 h with “Entrepreneur Night”, in which the “Barcelona Entrepreneur” prizes will be awarded. These prizes serve to highlight the entrepreneurial initiative of the city of Barcelona and its contribution to economic development, innovation and the generation of employment. <\/p>\n
