Catalonia.health<\/a>, the organization representing companies in the health and life sciences sector in Catalonia and headquartered at the Barcelona Science Park (PCB-UB), has announced the\u00a0appointment of Laura Iglesias as General Director of the association. With this appointment, the organisation is entering a new strategic phase focused on growing the association, strengthening connections between member companies and delivering more value to its members.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Laura Iglesias<\/strong> has been part of the Catalonia.health team since March 2024, first as Business Development Manager and then as Head of Growth. Between November 2024 and April 2025 she acted as Interim General Director, keeping operations running smoothly and maintaining member confidence during the transition.<\/p>\n

\u201cI take on this new role with great enthusiasm and a strong sense of responsibility. I believe this is an excellent opportunity to continue working alongside committed professionals and to address the challenges facing our sector together. My priority will be to strengthen the value we provide to our members, expand the association\u2019s national and international visibility, and above all create opportunities that drive connectivity, innovation, and growth across the ecosystem,\u201d said Iglesias<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Laura Iglesias<\/strong> holds a PhD in Molecular Biosciences from the University of Geneva and a degree in Genetics from the Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona. She brings over seven years of experience in translational research and leadership in health innovation, spanning R&D in diagnostics and stem cell biology, European project management, and partnership development across biotech, pharma and digital health.<\/p>\n

“Catalonia.health is entering a new phase with a clear ambition: to grow, to strengthen the connections between the companies and organisations that make up our ecosystem, and to multiply the value we can generate for our members,” said Eva Garc\u00eda Ramos<\/strong>, president of Catalonia.health. “Laura Iglesias possesses the qualities we need to lead this journey: an in-depth understanding of both the sector and the association itself, strategic vision, and the ability to turn connections into opportunities. Her appointment allows us to move forward with continuity and confidence, while also embracing the ambition to make Catalonia.health an increasingly relevant association, both in Catalonia and internationally.”<\/p>\n

With this appointment, Catalonia.health reaffirms its commitment to governance that is close, expert and focused on serving its 230 members.<\/p>\n
