Gate2Brain<\/a>, a biotechnology company dedicated to developing peptide-based technologies to facilitate drug delivery in central nervous system diseases, headquartered at the University of Barcelona Science Park, has announced a strategic alliance with Shilpa Biocare Pvt Ltd. The company is a subsidiary of Shilpa Medicare Limited, which is joining Gate2Brain’s shareholder base through a \u20ac7 million investment, acquiring a 30.4% stake in the company.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The agreement represents the largest investment raised by Gate2Brain since its foundation and consolidates the growth achieved by the company in less than six years of operation. This alliance will accelerate the development of G2B-002 and reinforce the validation of Gate2Brain’s proprietary technology platform for transporting therapies across the blood\u2013brain barrier.<\/p>\n

Driving G2B-002 and innovation in central nervous system diseases<\/strong><\/h3>\n

G2B-002 uses Gate2Brain\u2019s proprietary MiniAp4 peptide shuttle to address one of the major challenges in central nervous system diseases: enabling therapeutics to cross the blood-brain barrier. Preclinical studies have demonstrated improved brain delivery and reduced side effects in pediatric brain tumors.\u00a0By combining Gate2Brain\u2019s technology with Shilpa\u2019s expertise in manufacturing, CMC development and regulatory strategy, the partnership aims to accelerate the development of G2B-002 while supporting the expansion of the company\u2019s technology platform into additional therapeutic areas and CNS applications.<\/p>\n

This collaboration marks an important step in advancing G2B-002 from preclinical development toward clinical application, while reinforcing Gate2Brain\u2019s mission to address critical unmet medical needs in pediatric brain cancer and other central nervous system diseases, increasing the potential to deliver therapies to children and families facing devastating brain tumors.<\/p>\n
