CATALONIA.HEALTH<\/a>, the entity representing health and life sciences companies in Catalonia, located at the Barcelona Science Park, has announced the appointment of Arantxa Sanz as its new Managing Director. With this new leadership, a new phase begins focused on consolidating its position within the ecosystem and strengthening alliances in the scientific, business, and institutional worlds.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Arantxa Sanz<\/strong> holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Nottingham and a degree in Physics from the Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Madrid. She has extensive additional training in research management and institutional leadership, as well as in regulation and market access for medical devices.<\/p>\n

With more than two decades of experience in research, knowledge transfer, and the promotion of science policies, Arantxa Sanz<\/strong> has developed her professional career both in companies and in leading research institutions, such as the Mathematical Research Center (CRM) and the Institute of Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC)<\/a>. She has proven success in fostering public-private collaboration (Nanomed Spain) and in engaging ecosystem stakeholders with public policy decision-makers (SOMMa Alliance).<\/p>\n

The new CEO has also played a prominent role in promoting open science and coordinating inter-institutional units to address cross-cutting challenges such as artificial intelligence applied to life sciences or public health, as part of the strategic plans to which she has contributed.<\/p>\n

\u201cI take on this challenge with great enthusiasm and responsibility. It is a key moment to amplify the impact of research and innovation in health, and CATALONIA.HEALTH must be a fundamental piece in strengthening collaboration between the different stakeholders in the system with a transformative and open vision,\u201d says Sanz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

On her part, Mariona Serra<\/strong>, President of the entity, has praised the appointment, stating that \u201cArantxa Sanz\u2019s experience in institutional leadership, her ability to generate strategic alliances, and her global vision will be essential in consolidating and growing CATALONIA.HEALTH\u2019s role as a reference entity within the country\u2019s health and innovation ecosystem.\u201d<\/p>\n

With this appointment, the entity reinforces its commitment to governance aligned with the current challenges of the health sector at a time of transformation of the healthcare model and new needs, and to a strategy that integrates research, technological development, talent, and transfer as pillars of social and economic transformation.<\/p>\n
