Presentation of the Nutrition and Food Safety Research Institute in the conferences “Innovation Mornings”

On Tuesday 28 March, the (INSA·UB) will be presented during the conference " Innovation Mornings" , devoted to how studies on nutrition and health support the agricultural and food industry. This presentation will be held in the Casa Llotja de Mar (Pg. d'Isabel II, 1, Barcelona) and will include the participation of the director of INSA-UB and professor of the Dept. of Physiology of the UB, Miquel Moretó, who will address the technological offer and services of this institute.


Promoted by research groups that form part of the faculties of Pharmacy, Biology, Chemistry and Geography and History at the Universitat de Barcelona (UB, University of Barcelona) and centres and hospitals associated with the same educational institution, INSA aims to respond to requirements for research, training and service render to sectors associated with the agricultural and food industry. It will promote research of quality, strengthen the development of joint projects with companies, and provide consultancy services on issues of nutrition, quality and food safety.

The conference “Innovation Mornings” will also include the presentation of an example of collaboration in the development of a product and of technology transfer with enterprises in the agricultural and food sector. In this regard, the European R+D+I director of the company American Protein Corporation-Europe, Javier Polo, will give a talk entitled “Mechanism of action of protein supplements on intestinal function”.

These conferences are organized by the Chamber of Commerce, the Catalan Foundation for Research And Innovation and CIDEM.
