PCB-UB publishes its 2025 Annual Report in a new, more visual and accessible format

The publication, completely redesigned, showcases the main projects, achievements and milestones of a year marked by the consolidation of the Barcelona Science Park (PCB-UB) as a leading biomedical innovation hub. Among the highlights are the incorporation of new research centres, the continued high occupancy of its facilities and the expansion projects that will shape the Park’s future.

The 2025 Annual Report introduces a new editorial design that is more visual, modern and intuitive, making it easier to explore the Park’s key figures while providing a clearer overview of PCB-UB’s activities. Its new structure combines data, feature stories and visual content to offer a comprehensive picture of the Park’s evolution over the past year.

The publication reflects a particularly significant year for PCB-UB. The Park’s community now comprises 3,616 professionals across 111 organisations, including research centres, companies, non-profit organisations and University of Barcelona units. In addition, the Park has maintained near-full occupancy, with 98% of its conditioned spaces and 95% of its total space occupied, further strengthening its position as one of the country’s leading health innovation ecosystems.

Among the year’s most significant developments is the refurbishment of the fourth floor of the Cluster II building, which has enabled the incorporation of new research units from the August Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBAPS) and the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal), as well as the new headquarters of Fraunhofer CAT. This initiative strengthens the Diagonal Health Axis and helps position Barcelona as one of Europe’s leading hubs for biomedical research and innovation. The report also highlights the progress of the future Cub and MIES-UB buildings, which will expand the Park’s capacity in the coming years.
