Parc Científic de Barcelona takes part in European Researchers’ Night in Catalonia

The Parc Científic de Barcelona joins in celebrating European Researchers’ Night in Catalonia, which aims to bring this EU-wide event to the territories of Barcelona, Girona, Tarragona and Lleida. Today, as part of its RESSÒ (Recerca en Societat) programme, the PCB led an activity allowing students and teachers from six Catalan schools to learn about the facilities and the research carried out in one of Europe’s leading ecosystems in terms of research, technology transfer and innovation in life sciences.

The nearly 150 students who participated in the activity, accompanied by research staff from IRB Barcelona and CNAG, visited the PCB facilities, home to over 3,500 research professionals and more than 125 organisations. The central idea of the tour was to learn about the different phases involved in making medicines and how research is carried using bioinformatics, an increasingly important research field.

European Researchers’ Night in Catalonia is co-funded by the EU’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme and organised by the Catalan Association for Scientific Communication (ACCC), the Jaume Bofill Foundation, the Barcelona Institute for Global Health, the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the University of Barcelona, the University of Lleida, Rovira i Virgili University, and the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia.
