Parc Científic de Barcelona, is now closer to the airport

Since last Friday, the 12 of February, it is possible to go by underground from the Zona Universitaria line 9 metro station, located near the Parc Cientific de Barcelona (PCB), to the Barcelona-El Prat Airport. The opening of the now fully operational new section of the line, called L9 Sud, further improves the excellent connections to the PCB.

This new section has 15 tube stations: Zona Universitaria (connection with L3), Collblanc (connnection with line L5 ), Torrassa (connection with L1) Can Tries Gornal, Europa-Fira (connection with line L8 and the Ferrocarriles de la Generalitat FGC railway station, Exhibition area (Fira), Logistics Park, Mercabarna, Les Moreres, El Prat Station (connection with railway station), Cèntric, Parc Nou, Mas Blau, Aeroport terminal T2 (connection with main railway station) and Aeroport terminal T1.

The estimated journey time is 32 minutes from the Zona Universitaria station to the last stop at the airpot T1. The frequency  is approximately seven minutes, which will be reduced to 4 minutes on specific high demand occasions. The fare is € 4.50 and can be bought at any tube station in Barcelona.

Thanks to this  new line, the Parc Científic de Barcelona is directly connected with the airport through public transportation, from the Zona Universitaria station.

PCB located at one of the entrances to the city, has an unbeatable location and now with L9 sud, which affords a 20 km run, connects the cities of Barcelona, Hospitalet and El Prat de Llobregat. It also allows a direct link to the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via exhibit area, where numerous events of interest to companies and institutions based at PCB are held, providing easy access by public transport to shopping and logistic areas such as the Court buildings area or Mercabarna.

This connection will   be improved when the Camp Nou tube station at Dr. Marañón avenue is opened, which at present is providing services to the construction site of the northern section of line 9, which will connect Zona Universitaria with La Sagrera, on a date which is still to be confirmed.
