This award is in recognition of Màrius Rubiralta’s teaching and research work and also his contribution to the development of innovative scientific policies.

These forecasts are very local-scale and take into account the specific geographical characteristics of the area in which a given enterprise is located. The information obtained, which Meteosim adapts to the individual requirements of companies, may be of great use for management decisions in sectors that are affected by the elements, such as ski stations, wind farms or ports.

Barcelona’s albino gorilla, Snowflake (Floquet de Neu), has died Blog Post

The only known albino gorilla, Snowflake, the most famous resident of and one of the emblematic symbols of the city of Barcelona, died this morning at 6.40 h after the veterinary team decided to practice euthanasia in order to prevent him from undue suffering caused by skin cancer, which was diagnosed in 2001. Snowflake’s body will be given to science for the study of genetic and brain material. The Parc Científic de Barcelona is one of the centres that will perform these studies.

9% of the ICREA Foundation contracts granted to the PCB Blog Post
