Jelena Stanisavljevic wins the 4th edition of the ‘A day at PCB’ photography contest

Upcycled of Jelena Stanisavljevic, researcher at Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona), has been the winner of the 4th edition of the photography contest 'Un dia al PCB’ (A day at the PCB). The aim of this event organized by the Parc Científic de Barcelona (PCB) which brings together over the 2500 people that make up the PCB Community- is to create a collective mosaic with the best snapshots of life at the park. The award was presented to the winners today, 20th of December, at the Dolors Aleu Hall.

Upcycled, the winning photograph of the competition –awarded with a Tablet– was obtained at the entrance of the Cluster Building of the Barcelona Science Park and captures in an artistic way, through a play of lights and colours, the activity that takes place in the park. The jury has assessed its visual impact, technical quality. “I like the aesthetics of PCB, I love how the photo captures the astonishing amount of morning light, and I also support the idea that simple, everyday objects can be reused and upcycled. The picture sums up all three ideas”, explains Jelena Stanisavljevic, author of the image.

Staff associated with research institutes, companies, technology platforms and other entities present at the Barcelona Science Park, have presented 50 photographs.

A multidisciplinary jury composed of representatives and scientists working at the park as well as professionals in communication and graphic design who have praised and valued originality, visual impact and artistic and technical quality has chosen the winner.

All the photographs are shown on the plasma screens that are at the reception halls of the Cluster and Towers R & D+ I buildings. They also can be seeing on Instagram under the label #undialpcb2018

The Barcelona Science Park wishes to thank everyone for participating in this competition, an initiative very well received by the members of the PCB Community.
