IBEC to host Sociedad Española de Microbiología group congress

This week IBEC –located at the Barcelona Science Park– will be hosting the 8th meeting of the Molecular Microbiology group of the Sociedad Española de Microbiología (SEM). The congress will offer the chance for participants to learn about noteworthy advances in the field and to discuss the particular trends and challenges in this area. SEM's links with IBEC are via group leader Antonio Juárez, who with senior researcher Eduard Torrents is organising the congress along with the University of Barcelona. SEM promotes basic and applied microbiology, encourages international relations and brings together professionals working in its various fields. It is an interdisciplinary society with some 1,700 members, most of which are part of within one of 11 specialist groups, of which the Molecular Microbiology group is one.
