Get ready for the Christmas break: check areas for risk control and minimise energy costs

Work-free days and a break from routine are fast approaching. Before shutting down, you need to check and tidy up your workspace. In both offices and laboratories, with the daily hubbub, materials pile up that are no longer needed or that are even dangerous and can cause accidents.

In the laboratories, it is very important that:

  • Reagents and solvents are kept ordered in safety cabinets.
  • Waste containers are emptied.
  • Shelves and tables are freed up to make cleaning easier.

It is also important to tidy up office spaces, disposing of any materials and documents that are no longer of use.

Before going on break, you need to check the power sources and turn off or unplug computers, screens, and scientific equipment that won’t be used over the next few weeks. Leave the fan coils off and the interior windows closed.

For everyone’s safety and to be able to act effectively in case of technical emergencies, the PCB periodically updates a list of contacts for each company or institution. If you have not yet provided us with a contact person or if they have changed, now is a good time to let us know by completing the attached form.

Have a wonderful break! Happy Holidays!
