Experts in bioengineering and nanomedicine to meet at IBEC symposium

Scientists from Europe and the United States will gather at the World Trade Center in Barcelona for the Second Annual Symposium of the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC), to present details of their most recent research projects in the fields of bioengineering and nanomedicine. All IBEC researchers will participate in the Symposium, including those belonging to its associated groups. Several internationally renowned scientists have been invited as keynote speakers.

Several key personalities from the Catalan government and local universities will attend the inauguration ceremony: Marina Geli, Minister of Health and First Vicepresident of the Board of Trustees of the IBEC Private Foundation; Antoni Giró, Rector of the Technical University of Catalonia; Ramón Moreno, General Director of Research of the Ministry of Innovation, Universities and Enterprises; and Jordi Alberch, Research Vice-Chancelor of the University of Barcelona. IBEC´s director Josep A. Planell will host the event.

The Symposium will last two days, 14th and 15th of April at the World Trade Center in Barcelona. Its organizing committee estimates 300 researchers will participate in this event. A meeting of the International Scientific Committee will also be held on the 16th and 17th of April.
