CataloniaBio celebrates its 10th anniversary

The CataloniaBio Nit 2016 event will take place on the 3rd of March, a winter networking–dinner that will bring together over 200 entrepreneurs, researchers and professionals from the field of life and health sciences in Catalonia. This year, the dinner will be the main center stage of the 10th of the association and will include, as in the previous edition, the awarding of the 'Premi Bioèxit' (Biosuccess Award) of the year to one entrepreneur. CataloniaBio is based at the Barcelona Science Park (PCB) and currently hosts 74 business associated with a very relevant activity in research and innovation in the biosciences sector.

The ‘CataloniaBio Night’, which will take place on 10 March  at the Royal Palace of Pedralbes, is the central event of the 10th anniversary, and is open to the entire sector to promote relations and scientific and business cooperation.

The event will be chaired by Antonio Comin, Minister of Health of the Generalitat of Catalonia, and Jordi Baiget, Minister for Business and Enterprise.

CataloniaBio started the commemoration of its tenth anniversary at its annual assembly meeting, which took place last February at the PCB, and featured the participation of 70 entrepreneurs, researchers and professionals from different disciplines representing 65% of associated companies.

The board presented the 2015 annual report which highlighted the growth of the association, with a 20% more companies between 2014 and January 2016.

“Although we were about to close up not too long, as victims of an economic crisis and a model between 2010 and 2013, the collective desire to succeed has  enabled us to get where we are now,” said Ignasi Biosca, president of CataloniaBio.
