Álvaro Mata conducts a conference in the SEQC’s scientific-technical conferences

The head of the Nanotechnology Platform of the Barcelona Science Park, Alvaro Mata, has participated in the scientific-technical conferences organized by the Spanish Society of Cosmetic Chemical Compounds (SEQC), where he has conducted a conference titled "Nanotechnology and development of scaffold biomaterials for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine".

The objective of these conferences, which were held at the Silken Gran Hotel Havana of Barcelona, is to perform a comprehensive review of the impact of this technology on the cosmetic sector: the innovation opportunities it represents and the regulatory and safety aspects that should be taken into account.

The use of nanotechnology in the cosmetic industry sector is already a reality because we have been striving for nanoreduction in the size of particles and the creation of nanostructures with different objectives. However, as in any pioneer field of knowledge, the many advantages are accompanied by big unknowns which should be addressed in order to ensure responsible use.
