David Trueba participates in the 3rd Meeting of the Spanish Cinema Committee

The film producer and scriptwriter David Trueba will give a presentation on his career in the film industry in the 3rd Meeting of the Spanish Cinema Committee, to be held at 11.15 am on 3 December in the PCB Auditorium (c/ Baldiri Reixac, 4-6). Organized by the of the Universitat de Barcelona (UB, University of Barcelona), this meeting aims to promote debate and is open to the general public.


Qualified in journalism, David Trueba (born in 1969, Madrid) is one of the most relevant names in current Spanish cinema. Scriptwriter of films such as Amo tu cama rica and Los peores años de nuestra vida, by Emilio Martínez-Lázaro; or Too much and La niña de tus ojos, directed by Fernando Trueba, David Trueba made his debut as a producer with the film La buena vida (1996). After he directed Obra maestra (2000) and then Soldados de Salamina (2002), a candidate in the coming Oscar awards.

David Trueba is also the author of the following novels: Abierto toda la noche (1995), Cuatro amigos (1999) and the book of essays Tragarse la lengua y otros artículos de ocasión (2003). In addition, he has collaborated in several communication media and codirected with Gran Wyoming El Peor Programa de la Semana.

The Spanish Cinema Committee has held two previous meetings, in which José Luis Borau and José Luis Guerín participated. These were attended by professionals from the cinema industry and students from the UB Faculty of Geography and History.
