| The Nutrition and Food Safety Research Institute (INSA) has been developed to attend the needs of sectors associated with agro-alimentary industry regarding research, training and service provision. The institute comprises specialists in distinct fields of nutrition, food analysis and control, food safety, and the study of the social and economic repercussions of food.
INSA has been promoted by twenty-two research groups that belong to the faculties of Pharmacy, Biology, Chemistry, and Geography and History at the UB; eleven of which have been awarded Consolidated Group status by the Generalitat de Catalunya (Regional Government).
