With the aim to boost the day-to-day scientific and social activity in the
PCB, a series of conferences entitled “Park Seminars 2003” has been
designed. These presentations will address diverse disciplines and will be
given mainly by people linked to the PCB. These seminars will be held weekly
in the recently opened Room 1 of the Modular Building.
2003 marks the first year in which all the facilities of the PCB are fully
operational. These seminars are an initiative by which to promote synergies,
and the exchange of knowledge in topics of interest to the scientific
community in the PCB, whether from experimental sciences or others related
to law, bioethics or patents.
The inaugural conference, presented by the rector of the UB, Joan Tugores,
was held on Friday 17th January. Jaume Piulats, director of the
Bioinvestigation Laboratory of Merck Farma y Química also gave a
presentation on new approaches to oncological therapy.
